WILL TAEKWON-DO GROUP

The WILL TAEKWON-DO GROUP was founded by Master Eric in 2002 as one of the dominant group of Taekwon-Do in North Peninsular Malaysia, Malaysia. Since 2002, the school has been successfully introducing traditional Korean Tae Kwon do to the public throughout the northern region of Malaysia. The reputation and influence of our group went on nationally as well. The affiliation of the school ranges from states in Malaysia which shares the same tradition and technological study of Taekwon-Do.The purpose and goal of the group is to provide quality instruction in both the traditional & sport Korean Martial Art of Taekwon-Do and unique cultural interexchange of two cultures. We teach not only self-defense technique but also the essence of respect and self-confidence. It's beneficial for all ages men, women, and children.The Classes at WILL Taekwon-Do Academy/Centres/Branches are instructed by Master Eric and his qualified group of Instructors who possessed with the official qualifications, certifications and recognition, so to ensure the same standard & quality of teaching. Master Eric has been appointed as the Chief Instructor for Kulim/ Bandar Baharu District, the Chairman of Penang South-West Province Taekwon-Do Association (GTF), the certified examiner and qualified umpire. He is a well-known martial arts figure amongst martial arts communities in the region. He has over 26 years of experience in the art, has trained many black belts students and is now been recognised as the International Instructor. All the classes in the WILL Taekwon-Do Academy (Kulim Main Branch) are conducted by Master Eric himself. Master Eric welcomes you to visit the academy/school and try a payment free trail lesson. No previous martial art experience is required. You can learn and practice at your own pace with the guidance of Master Eric.

STANDING PROCEDURES FOR TAEKWONDO COMPETITION AT OLYMPIC GAMES

Purpose:

The purpose of this Standing Procedure, hereinafter known as the “Procedure,” is to manage fairly and smoothly all matters pertaining to the taekwondo competition at the Olympic Games, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the World Taekwondo Federation, hereinafter known as “WTF Rules,” and the Competition Rules of the WTF, hereinafter known as the “WTF Competition Rules.”


Organizing Committees of the Olympic Games (“OCOGs”) should refer to the most up-to-date WTF Rules and WTF Competition Rules for more detailed explanation of the Articles stated in the Procedure.




Competition Area:

The Competition Area (one court) for the Olympic Games shall be installed on a platform 1m high from the base and the outer part of the Boundary Line shall be over 2m wide. The outer part of the platform shall be inclined at a gradient of less than 30 degrees for the safety of the contestants.



Weight Divisions:

Weight divisions at the Olympic Games are divided as follows:

MALE DIVISION

(1) Under 58kg - Not exceeding 58kg

(2) Under 68kg - Over 58kg & not exceeding 68kg

(3) Under 80kg - Over 68kg & not exceeding 80kg

(4) Over 80kg - Over 80kg

 
FEMALE DIVISION


(1) Under 49 kg - Not exceeding 49kg

(2) Under 57kg - Over 49kg & not exceeding 57kg

(3) Under 67kg - Over 57kg & not exceeding 67kg

(4) Over 67kg - Over 67kg



Head of Team Meeting and Drawing Lots:

Head of team meeting and drawing of lots shall be conducted under the joint control of the Technical Delegate of the WTF and the OCOGs two (2) days prior to the first competition day.

Based on the WTF World Ranking as of February 1, 2012, top eight (8) athletes will be seeded in the order of their ranks, while the rest of the athletes will be drawn manually.

* Ranking points annual deduction rules shall not be applied until the last Continental Qualification Tournament. Right after the last Continental Qualification Tournament, the total points of each athlete will be deducted by 25%.

There shall be no redraw even if two athletes are all disqualified in same bracket.

The seeded athletes of each weight division will be announced on WTF website at the earliest on July 10, 2012 after completion of entry submission process. In principle, 50% of the contestants shall be seeded. However, this number may be decreased to seven (7) for the weight division in which the host NOC chooses to participate. If the athlete from the host nation has not been seeded based on his/her World Ranking, he/she will be seed at the position of the 8th.

After the announcement of seeded athletes, there shall be, in principle, no change of seeding order. In the case that the seeded athletes cannot compete due to some reasons, the next highest seeded athlete will take up the position, and so forth. Once the list of seeded athletes is handed over to the LOCOG at the latest two days before the draw, there shall be no further change of seeded athletes.
